Reliable Education continued its fantastic support in 2018, sponsoring three major offshore programs (Probolinggo, Situbondo and Bondowoso) in East Java. Members and their families travelled to the locations with our team to see firsthand the effects of their donations.
When the results of the three programs are added together, the figures are staggering: 7,843 adults checked for eye problems, 2,109 children checked, 4,981 pairs of glasses given out, 1,730 people treated for eye infections and 688 cataract blind people operated and now able to see again. Also 58 people had individually-made artificial eyes fitted.
The third Reliable Education program for 2018, held in Bondowoso in December, was attended by members of Reliable Education who undertook to raise $9,000 for a new steriliser for the mobile eye clinics when they saw one of our sterilisers burn out.
