Despite a busy offshore program, our team continued their work in Bali, with 12 individual village programs in July-August, during which they screened 4,244 people with eye problems, distributed glasses to 2,908 with visual problems, treated 1,313 for infections and restored sight to 81 people who were blind with cataracts.
The programs were located in six of the nine Districts of Bali – Denpasar, Gianyar, Bangli, Buleleng, Badung and Tabanan. Buleleng (North Bali) requires an overnight stay for the team and is one of the most needy areas with a high rate of cataract blindness.
