Young Ambassadors’ Visit

Students, teachers and parents from Immanuel College, Adelaide, visited the Foundation in October. This was the school’s fourth visit to our activities which they have supported financially over many years.

Following a pizza dinner at the Foundation’s premises during which topeng (masked) dancers provided entertainment, the young ambassadors travelled out to the field to witness a village eye screening and cataract operations in the mobile eye clinic on World Sight Day, and again the following day to witness the ‘miracle’ when the eye pads are removed from the previously blind patients.

The group also attended a pre-surgery clinic for children who will undergo operations for cleft deformities over the next few months.

The Principal and teachers, as well as the parents, were very enthusiastic about the week’s activities which were an eye- opening experience for the young students.
