		Our first offshore eye program for 2022 was held in Kupang, West Timor, in conjunction with the Indonesian Air Force. 		Nine more people received a prosthetic eye in March and April, custom-made by JFF’s ocularist. The provision of an artificial eye makes such a difference to the patients’ lives, restoring their self confidence, and opening up wider opportunities for them.
		Eye clinics and operating sessions continued at the JFF Headquarters in Sanur and in the villages, during which 57 blind people had their sight restored, 2075 people were checked for eye problems, 1392 received glasses and 835 were treated for eye infections.

		Two offshore eye programs scheduled for East Java in January and February were postponed to later in the year because of the onset of the Omicron variant in Indonesia.
		Four people were fitted with custom-made prosthetic eyes in Bali by JFF’s ocularist, Wayan Wijaya in January and February – two receiving their first artificial eye and two their second.
