The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, presented John Fawcett with the prestigious award, Satyalancana Kebaktian Sosial, for his outstanding humanitarian contribution to Indonesia, especially in the field of provision of cataract surgery to the poor. The presentation took place in Central Jakarta at a special ceremony on National Social Welfare Solidarity Day

The John Fawcett Foundation’s action arm, Yayasan Kemanusiaan Indonesia, was awarded the status of Best Humanitarian Foundation in Indonesia, with particular reference to its high level of management and administration. The award was presented to YKI’s Senior Projects Manager, Drs Wayan Sukajaya, in Solo, Java, by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
