For the amount we raised the rewards far outweighed the efforts involved. We were overwhelmed by the level of organisation of the activity and the welcome we received. It was wonderful to actually view a cataract operation being performed in the mobile eye clinic, talk to the surgeon, and feel part of the team.To see the expression on the faces of the patients as their pads were removed and they could see again. One very happy woman asked:When can I get the other eye done?
The school screening was a highlight too – going into the classrooms and watching the very efficient team checking the eyes of the students and teachers, looking at all the happy faces. It was a unanimous‘yes’from all the committee to make this an annual event (the donation and a committee presence) – we were so impressed with the work that you do in Bali.
