We were very pleased to welcome back to Bali Plastic Surgeon, Dr Tim Cooper AM, and Burns Specialist, Dr Mark Duncan-Smith, from Western Australia, who conducted a four-day surgical training program for local surgeons in the Puri Raharja Hospital, Denpasar. Eight young people, mostly from the eastern islands of Indonesia, with severe long-term burns scarring had their contractions released, giving them increased mobility.
JFF thanks the medical personnel and Puri Raharja Hospital for their cooperation and support for this program, and the Bali-based Kolewa Foundation which located the patients and supported them and their families with transport to Bali, accommodation and follow-up treatments.
