Five JFF staff spent 10 days in Timika, Papua, conducting a screening and operating training program for local health workers and staff from the Department of Health in remote locations reachable only by boat. The program was funded by PT Freeport as part of its CSR activities. During the training activity 941 people were screened for eye problems, 376 were given glasses, 234 received eye drops for infections, and 11 cataract blind people received sight-restoring operations.
