In January, the JFF team completed one of its biggest screening and operating activities that took place over four days in the town of Situbondo, East Java. The team screened 2,579 people with eye problems, issued 1,512 pairs of glasses and treated 700 for infections with eye drops, while 201 cataract blind people had their sight restored onsite in two of JFF’s mobile eye clinics. Two ophthalmic surgeons from Perdami Bali and two from Klinik Mata Utama in Gresik, East Java, assisted JFF in this program.
