In May the team travelled to Sumbawa east of Bali, with two mobile eye clinics, to conduct a screening and operating program sponsored by PT Sumbawa Timur Mining. The team screened 2,275 village people and distributed glasses to 1,478. 185 blind people had their sight restored with cataract operations by Dr Endro Pranoto SpM and Dr Jusni Sarigh SpM. The team also visited four local schools and checked the eyes of 1,459 pupils. We thank Dr Endro, Dr Jusni and the Dompu Department of Health for their assistance with is program.
