The JFF team was delighted to be able to resume the offshore eye program with two activities in East Java in November and December, resulting in 232 people restored to sight.
Banyuwangi
In November the team conducted a cataract operating program in conjunction with the Indonesian Red Cross and Rumah Sakit Blambangan in Banyuwangi. During this activity, 130 blind people received sight-restoring operations; 369 people with eye problems were checked, 150 were provided with glasses to help with their vision and 140 were treated for eye infections
Jember
In December the the Rumah Sakit Bina Sehat in Jember, where JFF has an Outreach Clinic, provided the location for this activity. During this program, 102 people had their sight restored, 360 people with eye problems were checked, 138 were provided with glasses to help with their vision and 40 were treated for eye infections.
