In late December five children underwent eye surgery with ophthalmic surgeon, Dr Wayan Gde Dharyata, assisted by JFF nurses in Puri Raharja Hospital, Denpasar, with anaesthetists who gave their time and skills free of charge.
Two of the patients were from Bali, one was from East Java, and two were from Sumbawa, identified in the JFF screening and operating program in Dompu in September. The operations and associated costs for these patients were covered by PT Sumbawa Timur.
